Frequently Asked Questions
If you don't see an answer to your question, please call us at 1-855-70-SEATS.
1. Will this replacement seat fit my mower?
Our replacement seats fit most modern zero turn radius (ZTR) and tractor type lawn mowers, but not all. The key to answering this question depends on how your current seat mounts to your mower and how much room there is for a seat.
(a.) Mark the holes that are used to mount your seat. Many seats have multiple bolt patterns so it is important you measure the correct holes.
(b.) Measure the width (side to side) bolt pattern first. With your seat upside down, center the 1" mark of your tape measure on the center of the first hole. Measure to the center of the next hole. Take the measurement to the nearest 1/4 of an inch and subtract 1". This is your width.
(c.) Measure the length (front to back) pattern next. Repeat the same procedure as step (b.). Again, be sure to check all bolt hole patterns. Occasionally, the back two holes may not be in line with the front two holes. If this is the case, draw a line and measure from the front hole straight back. DO NOT measure diagonally.
Compare these measurements to the mounting drawing provided with the photographs which can be found on all of our seats. The SK330 seats have multiple mounting options which are found on each individual listing, but all of the seats mount with the following measurements:
Utilizing slides (Included) 11 1/4" wide x 11" long
Without slides 11 1/4" wide x 11 1/2" long
(d.) The next consideration is how much space the seat takes up. Please refer to the drawing of the seat for those measurements.
2. Do I need a Normally Open (NO) or a Normally Closed (NC) operator presence switch on my lawn mower seat?
Modern mowers have an operator presence switch that disengages the engine when the operator is out of the seat. Our seats come standard with a Normally Open (NO) seat switch. If you need a Normally Closed (NC) switch, please call us for a special order switch. We strongly recommend you contact your mower manufacturer to determine the right switch for the type of mower and the year it was built. Unless specified at checkout, seats will ship with a Normally Open (NO) switch configuration. MOST Normally Open seat switches have a BLACK switch with the metal plugins for most switch manufacturers. If you find out that you need a normally closed switch after you receive your seat, no worries, just call us and we will put one in the mail to you.
3. How do I install this seat on my lawn mower?
Some assembly is required for each of our seats. A full set of instructions are included along with your seat for easy and fast installation. A standard SAE wrench set is needed to install the seat belts, and no tools are required to install armrests. Total installation should take 10-15 minutes.
